Mysteries Debuts, then Departs
Seattle, Washington, September 1, 2009 - Fans of Exile Game Studio have clamored for an answer to a single mystery for over a year: Where is Mysteries of the Hollow Earth™, the long awaited second supplement to the Hollow Earth Expedition™ roleplaying game? The mystery was solved at 9 AM, August 13, when Mysteries of the Hollow Earth™ made its first public appearance at Gen Con 2009.
As Very Important Gamers (VIGs) began their mad dash to be the first ones to get their hands on the hottest gaming products in the vendor hall, it became clear that Exile Game Studio had a hit on its stands. Sean Gore of Chicago, Illinois, bypassed several highly anticipated games to make sure he got a copy of Mysteries of the Hollow Earth™.
Just over 48 hours later, the limited edition Mysteries print run was sold out. Jeff Combos, President and creator of Exile Game Studio, placed one copy up for silent auction with all proceeds going to support Gamers for Humanity, a non-profit organization associated with Habitat for Humanity. "We are extremely pleased with the reception Mysteries has received," said Combos. "And it felt good to be able to use a little of that positive support to help a good cause."
Mysteries of the Hollow Earth™ will be available at local game stores this autumn. Fans can also download the book as a PDF via DriveThru RPG.
Exile Game Studio is the publisher of the award-winning pulp RPG, Hollow Earth Expedition™ and the creator of the Ubiquity Roleplaying System™—an enhanced dice pool system that emphasizes storytelling and cinematic action.
